Two children limit?

When my oldest daughter was diagnosed with autism I was told by family members not to have more children. I told them to stop butting in my decisions. I told them it was unkind and that I, my husband and GOD would make that decision. When my second was born she too has autism. To me it's no big deal. My kids are normal to me. They do have learning disabilities but we are dealing with it with Resources, Special Ed class, Speech and Occupational Therapy. It is extra work but they are my kids and I love them very much. And If I could I would have more. WE don't need people or government to tell us how many children we can have. And there are people who would rather abort then to bring the child to full term. But to force parents who want kids to abort is a sin. Look at China. I don't think we should go there. Let couples make the decision. God's will should prevail.

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (AP) - The world's most famous groundhog saw his shadow Monday morning, predicting this already long winter will last for six more weeks.

Punxsutawney Phil emerged just after dawn in front of an estimated 13,000 witnesses, many dressed in black-and-gold to celebrate the Pittsburgh Steelers' Super Bowl victory the night before.

"There's significant buzz from the Steelers win and quite a few Terrible Towels floating from the crowd," said Mickey Rowley, deputy secretary for tourism in Pennsylvania.

The annual ritual takes place on Gobbler's Knob, a tiny hill in Punxsutawney, a borough of about 6,100 residents some 65 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.

Ed Royce's statement

"Any stimulus package should focus on encouraging private capital into the system rather than redistributing taxpayer money through the government. The deficit is projected to reach $1 trillion and this bill could add an additional $1 trillion to the problem. We should be concerned with the amount of national debt we are loading onto the backs of our young citizens," said Royce.

"In the economic climate we are currently facing, our country deserves better. We need a plan that actually fixes the problem that got us into this mess in the first place."

McClintock's Second Law of Political Physics

With this measure, the new administration seems bound and determined to continue the failed policy of the past administration. This proves what I like to call “McClintock’s Second Law of Political Physics,” which is, the more we spend on our mistakes, the less willing we are to admit them.

This policy has failed everywhere and every time it has been tried for a simple reason: government cannot INJECT a dollar INTO the economy that it first has not taken OUT of the economy.

If I take a dollar from Peter and give it to Paul, it’s true that Paul now has an extra dollar to spend. And when he spends it, that dollar will ripple through the economy.

But Peter now has one less dollar to spend in that same economy. In short, it nets to zero.

In fact, it nets to less than zero, because we are shifting enormous amounts of capital away from investments based on economic calculations and in favor of investments based on political ones.

PELOSI: Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children's health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those - one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So no apologies for that?

PELOSI: No apologies. No. we have to deal with the consequences of the downturn in our economy.

So killing the fetus before it can live will cut government costs? Health care is a responsibility not a right. Each child born will be taken care of by their parents. (or should be). Let's teach responsibility instead of depending on Government to take care of our health and our children.

Pelosi said one of her favorite moments from Inauguration Day was when Marine One lifted off the Capitol grounds, signifying former President George W. Bush's exit from Washington. "It felt like a 10-pound anvil was lifted off my head," she said.

Wow! W was a real strong President. This "Texan" kept Nancy in line. With Obama in the Presidency she can push him around. No Anvil on her little head! Heh!

First Lady's Style

I was not impressed with Michelle My Bell's dress yesterday. I agree with Ace. "Who Shot the Curtains"? But then I remember Laura Bush's first dresses and she was a little out of style too. I think each First Lady acquires a style once she settles into office. Michelle is very tall. And she needs to find a style that fits her long body. Anything around her waist tied looks bad. It makes her look too long.

MLK was smeared by Dems

In reality, Dr. King was a Christian who held deeply religious beliefs and was guided by his faith and his Republican Party principles in his struggle to gain equality for blacks. He did not embrace the type of socialist, secularist agenda that is promoted by the Democrat Party today, which includes fostering dependency on welfare that breaks up families, supporting same-sex marriage and banning God from the public square.

An understanding of who the real Dr. King was can be gained from a glimpse of Dr. King as a young man who participated in an oratorical contest when he was 14 years old. The title of his speech was “The Negro and the Constitution” which had the following sentences: “We cannot have an enlightened democracy with one great group living in ignorance…We cannot be truly Christian people so long as we flout the central teachings of Jesus: brotherly love and the Golden Rule….”

If Dr. King were still alive, he would be slandered by Democrats in the same way that they smeared him in the 1960’s and demean all black Republicans today.

Bill Ayers turned away from Canada

An American education professor, one of the founders of a radical 1960s group known as the Weather Underground, which was responsible for a number of bombings in the United States in the early 1970s, was turned back at the Canadian border last night.

Dr. William Ayers, a professor of education at the University of Illinois-Chicago and a leader in educational reform, was scheduled to speak at the Centre for Urban Schooling at University of Toronto's Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. But that appearance has now been temporarily cancelled.

"I don't know why I was turned back," Ayers said in an interview this morning from Chicago. "I got off the plane like everyone else and I was asked to come over to the other side. The border guards reviewed some stuff and said I wasn't going to be allowed into Canada. To me it seems quite bureaucratic and not at all interesting ... If it were me I would have let me in. I couldn't possibly be a threat to Canada."

I wonder what he had in his bags? Marijuana, cocaine, Bombs or weapons?

WASHINGTON (AP) — President George W. Bush has commuted the prison sentences of two former Border Patrol guards whose convictions for shooting a Mexican drug dealer ignited debate about illegal immigration.

Bush's act of clemency on Monday for Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean was a victory for Democratic and Republican members of Congress and others who pleaded with the president to pardon the men or at least commute their sentences.

Ramos and Compean are each serving sentences of more than 10 years for shooting an unarmed illegal immigrant as he was fleeing an abandoned marijuana load in 2005, then trying to cover it up.
