My answer is, John McCain!

Support the Sky Soldiers

Here from BlackFive The Sky Soldiers in Afghanistan:
Historically, spring is a time of heavy fighting in this region as the terrorists and insurgents emerge from their caves after the harsh winter temperatures and snows. Let's show these Soldiers how much support they have from home to help them through the spring and the remainder of this long and dangerous deployment.
American troopers are in the fight of their lives and they need to hear that America loves them.

Please send an email of support to skysoldiers173rd@gmail.com

Or you can mail cards to:

Prince Harry in Afganistan

Via Drudge hot off the press:
Prince Harry has fulfilled his dream of serving his country, fighting the Taliban on the front line in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence confirmed today.

The 23-year-old Household Cavalry officer has spent the past 10 weeks secretly serving in war-ravaged Helmand Province and was there over Christmas. He dropped his first bombs on New Year's Eve.

The Prince dismissed fears that he will be a "bullet magnet", sworn he does not miss "anything" - and made no reference to girlfriend Chelsy Davy.

Despite being third in line to the throne, the prince was allowed to operate within sight of enemy positions, calling in air strikes and carrying out aerial surveillance of Taliban trenches and bunker systems.

A-Q abroad

I know Obama will never understand the Military. He does not understand that A-Q was in Iraq before we invaded as well as other terrorists. It doesn't matter if A-Q was there or not. Iraq was training terrorists and harboring them too, before we invaded. A-Q is all over the place and is a threat to US. We need to keep them running and we need to stay in Iraq to help the country fight the enemy and make sure they don't come back. From Yellow Lines here:
Question of the day.
Is it President George Bush's, or V.P. Dick Cheney's, or Senator John McCain's fault(s) that there exists Al Qaeda in Europe, Al Qaeda in North Africa, or Al Qaeda in Indonesia, [also here], considering the we haven't invaded any of those regions? Too bad Senator Barrack Obama will never be asked such a question by a member of the media

An American born--Natural born

My Nephew was born in Germany while my ex-brother-in-law was serving in the Army. He is an American just as John McCain was born in Panama. while his father was serving in Panama Canal Zone. From Capt over at Hot Air on the NYT article about McCain's eligibility for becoming President.
Quickly recognizing confusion over the evolving nature of citizenship, the First Congress in 1790 passed a measure that did define children of citizens “born beyond the sea, or out of the limits of the United States to be natural born.” But that law is still seen as potentially unconstitutional and was overtaken by subsequent legislation that omitted the “natural-born” phrase.

Mr. McCain’s citizenship was established by statutes covering the offspring of Americans abroad and laws specific to the Canal Zone as Congress realized that Americans would be living and working in the area for extended periods. But whether he qualifies as natural-born has been a topic of Internet buzz for months, with some declaring him ineligible while others assert that he meets all the basic constitutional qualifications — a natural-born citizen at least 35 years of age with 14 years of residence.

“I don’t think he has any problem whatsoever,” said Mr. Nickles, a McCain supporter. “But I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if somebody is going to try to make an issue out of it. If it goes to court, I think he will win.”

McCain or McClain for Pres?

William F. Buckley Jr. RIP

From NRO The President's message:
STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT

America has lost one of its finest writers and thinkers. Bill Buckley was one of the great founders of the modern conservative movement. He brought conservative thought into the political mainstream, and helped lay the intellectual foundation for America's victory in the Cold War and for the conservative movement that continues to this day. He will be remembered for his principled thought and beautiful writing — as well as his personal warmth, wit, and generous spirit. His legacy lives on in the ideas he championed and in the magazine he founded — National Review.

Laura and I send our prayers to Chris Buckley, the Buckley family, and all who loved this good man.

Ditto W! I always loved Bill Buckley when he was on TV. I probably would not be a conservative if I had never heard of him. As a young child I liked what he was saying. He spoke the truth about issues and helped me understand them. It was his intellectual viewpoint that I tuned in to. Thanks to you WFB for I became a conserviate by listening and watching to you.

B-2 crashes off Guam

From USA Today here:

A B-2 stealth bomber plunged to the ground shortly after taking off from an air base in Guam on Saturday, the first time one crashed, but both pilots ejected safely, Air Force officials said.

The aircraft was taking off with three others on their last flight out of Guam after a four-month deployment, part of a continuous U.S. bomber presence in the western Pacific. After the crash, the other three bombers were being kept on Guam, said Maj. Eric Hilliard at Hickham Air Force Base in Hawaii.

At least one B-2 bomber had taken off safely from Andersen Air Force Base but was brought back when another aircraft plunged to the ground.

There were no injuries on the ground or damage to buildings, and no munitions were on board. Each B-2 bomber costs about $1.2 billion to build.

I worked on the mission planning software for the B-2 back in the 90's for Logicon (now Northrup-Grummun). I'm glad the pilots ejected safely, but the loss of the bird was very expensive.

Numero Uno!

"He's a people's dog, a merry little hound," handler Aaron Wilkerson said.

A sold-out crowd at Madison Square Garden that called and chanted Uno's name stood and roared when he was picked as numero uno. He got right into the act, jumping on Wilkerson and confirming his other title: noisiest in show.

Years from now, it'll be known as the "ah-roo!" heard 'round the ring.

God Almighty has struck me

He's a Commie not a Liberal!

The Democratic party is actually attracting the radicals of the far left such as the Communist or Socialists. They are no longer a Liberal party but a party of Socialists. I'm sure the spin is they want to attract them to the Democratic party. From LGF here.
Update: HT from LGf on the lady pictured above with the Flag in Obama's Houston office.

More from John McCain POW

I have heard there was one B-52 pilot who refused to fly the missions during the Christmas bombing. You always run into that kind. When the going gets tough, they find out their conscience is bothering them. I want to say this to anybody in the military: If you don't know what your country is doing, find out. And if you find you don't like what your country is doing, get out before the chips are down.

Once you become a prisoner of war, then you do not have the right to dissent, because what you do will be harming your country. You are no longer speaking as an individual, you are speaking as a member of the armed forces of the United States, and you owe loyalty to the Commander in Chief, not to your own conscience. Some of my fellow prisoners sang a different tune, but they were a very small minority. I ask myself if they should be prosecuted, and I don't find that easy to answer. It might destroy the very fine image the great majority of us have brought back from that hellhole. Remember, a handful of turncoats after the Korean made a great majority of Americans think that most of the POWs in conflict were traitors.

If these men are tried, it should not be because they took an antiwar stance, but because they collaborated with the Vietnamese to an extent, and that was harmful to the other American POW's. And there is this to consider: America will have other wars to fight until the Communists give up their doctrine of violent overthrow of our way of life. These men should bear some censure so that in future wars there won't be a precedent for conduct that hurts this country.

John McCain the POW

I supported Romney for President but with his dropping out I'll support John McCain. I don't support some of his bills (Kennedy-McCain, McCain-Feingold, McCain-Lieberman) but I do support his involvement in the War in Terror. He stuck up for Bush and Petraus and supported the surge, while others stood back. He wants to get OBL even if it is at the gates to hell. And when the Left goes after him and tries to swift boat him his POW record, I say NO WAY! He is a fighter and I'm in for the fight of our country against the left. We need to stand together, and defeat the Dems. We will fight for victory on the war of terror. We will not waiver, we will not falter, we will succeed. But if we get Hillary or Obama, our military will suffer and we will loose the war on terror.

From Free Republic, John McCain's story here.
Now that I'm back, I find a lot of hand-wringing about this country. I don't buy that. I think America today is a better country than the one I left nearly six years ago.

The North Vietnamese gave us very little except bad news about the U. S. We didn't find out about the first successful moon shot [in 1969] until it was mentioned in a speech by George McGovern saying that Nixon could put a man on the moon, but he couldn't put an end to the Vietnam war.

They bombarded us with the news of Martin Luther King's death and the riots that followed. Information like that poured continuously out of the loud-speakers.

I think America is a better country now because we have been through a sort of purging process, a re-evaluation of ourselves. Now I see more of an appreciation of our way of life. There is more patriotism. The flag is all over the place. I hear new values being stressed-the concern for environment is a case in point.

The winning play

The Game winning play at NFL.COM

From Fox at YOUTUBE

Great game, the best I have seen in years. Eli deserved it. The Manning's are a great family! I loved the way Peyton stayed up in the box and let his brother play the game.
