It's 1979 again!

1979
2007
This hostage crisis could have been averted if the Brits just opened fire on those Revolutionary Navy boats. I know I wasn't there, but still they could have done a more aggressive move.
My prayers go out to those Royal Navy and Marines and their families. We're all Navy!

Traitor!

From JPOST here:
A federal judge ordered a former Navy sailor to remain behind bars Friday on charges that he supported terrorism by disclosing secret information about the location of Navy ships and the best ways to attack them.

Hassan Abujihaad, 31, appeared briefly in US District Court in Bridgeport, Connecticut but did not enter a plea or make a statement. He is due to return to court on March 30 for an arraignment.

Abujihaad, an American-born Muslim convert also known as Paul R. Hall, was arrested March 7 in Phoenix, Arizona, where he was apparently working as a delivery man. He was charged with one count of providing material support to terrorists with intent to kill US citizens and one count of disclosing classified information relating to the national defense.

Federal authorities say they recovered e-mails about videos Abujihaad ordered that promoted violent jihad.

Friends said they knew the former sailor was unhappy with American foreign policy but were surprised when he was arrested on charges of supporting terrorism.

Oh yeah! They were really surprised that he would commit treason against the United States of America. I'm glad the guy is in jail. And stay put till he rots in hell!
Traitor!

15 British sailors captured by Iran

HMS Cornwall
The 15 British Navy personnel captured at gunpoint in the Gulf serve on board HMS Cornwall, a Type-22 Broadsword-class frigate.

That vessel arrived in the northern Gulf on 12 March.

On board, Commodore Nick Lambert is commanding the task force on his fourth tour of the region.
The Cornwall was commissioned by Diana, Princess of Wales in 1988.
BBC story and video here.
UPDATE: The captured British sailors are in Tehran now.

The British government says the eight sailors and seven marines were in Iraqi waters. It has called for their immediate release.

The Fars news agency says the group - including one woman - was flown to Iran's capital and arrived in the Iranian capital at 1200 local time.

We hope and pray they will be returned safely. They are NAVY and our brothers and sister (one of the 15 is a woman sailor).

Please fund the troops, We want to Win!

President Bush said today....
"This is an important moment -- a decision for the new leaders in Congress. Our men in women in uniform should not have to worry that politicians in Washington will deny them the funds and the flexibility they need to win. Congress needs to send me a clean bill that I can sign without delay. I expect Congress to do its duty and to fund our troops, and so do the American people -- and so do the good men and women standing with me here today."

Audio here.

I like it when W acts like the cowboy he is! The Dems are in trouble! The bill won't even pass in the senate with McConnell and Lieberman. And It takes money to re-deploy the troops too! (I guess the Dems haven't though of that) Let the troops win the war over there. Let us not have to fight it over here.

George P will be an Ensign!

FORT WORTH, Texas — George P. Bush, the son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and nephew of President Bush, has been selected as one of 15 prospective ensigns for the Navy Reserves intelligence unit.

Lt. Cmdr. Bill Schroeder of the Navy Reserve Intelligence Command in Fort Worth said Wednesday that once Bush and the other members of the Class of 2007 are sworn in later this year they will go through a two-week officer indoctrination school, a year of Navy basic intelligence training and be assigned to Navy reserve intelligence units close to their homes.

Schroeder said Navy intelligence officers collect and analyze information and provide guidance to help war fighters make decisions critical on the battlefield.

He said Bush, 30, has gotten no special treatment.

"He will be held to the same standards as all of his other shipmates," Schroeder said. "He will go through the same training. He will have the same duties and responsibilities and have to display the same commitment as the rest of his shipmates."

The 15 were selected in February by a panel of Navy officers who considered their qualifications, skills and education.

Attempts to reach Bush, a graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, by telephone Wednesday night were not immediately successful.

Conservatives and Climate Change

For if conservatives cannot reframe, reclaim and respond to climate change with our principles intact, government will undoubtedly provide a solution, no matter how taxing it may be.

Just what we need to keep in mind as the Goreocial takes the Capitol this week.

Quote read by GOP Senate Leader Mitch McConnell

What was quoted by Sen. McConnell on the Senate floor from General David Petraeus;
The enemies of Iraq will shrink at no act, however barbaric. They will do all they can to shake the confidence of the people and to convince the world that this effort is doomed. We must not underestimate them. Together with our Iraqi partners, we must defeat those who oppose the new Iraq. We cannot allow mass murders to hold the initiative. We must strike them relentlessly. We and our Iraqi partners must set the terms of the struggle, not our enemies. And together, we must prevail.

Fight to win this battle and not give up! Victoriously! God bless the troops and America. I'm happy Gen. Petraeus is in charge.

The surge is showing results and we want to take power to fight away

The bombings are down in Baghdad 30%. The MSM is noticing here.

And The House is proposing to create legislation to take the Commander-in-Chief's power to fight wars away. From NZ Bear at VC:

The Democratic leadership in the House of Representatives has decided to micro-manage the war effort by loading the funding bill required to authorize continued operations in Iraq with conditions and provisions designed to force the President to retreat and withdraw from the fight.

Check out the PDF of the bill. It is so UNCONSTITUTIONAL to take the CIC powers away. How are we going to fight and protect our country when our President can't protect us? The Moonbats are crazy! When will they realize we need those powers intact to protect OUR Citizens. The Democrats would rather protect the Terrorists of their humanity than the citizens of the United States. Pathetic!
From Yahoo news (HT LGF) :
A Democratic plan to require the withdrawal of U.S. combat troops from
Iraq passed its first test in the House Appropriations Committee on Thursday as the panel voted to go ahead, overcoming Republican opposition.

Members voted 37-27 to uphold a provision in a $124 billion war spending legislation that calls for troops to leave Iraq before September 2008, and possibly sooner if the Iraqi government does not meet certain benchmarks. Republicans had proposed stripping out the timetable.

The vote gave Democrats a victory, if only for the moment, in their effort to challenge
President Bush's war policies and pressure him into starting a withdrawal of U.S. troops.

The committee was expected to approve the overall spending bill by later Thursday, but its longer-range fate is dim. In the Senate, minority Republicans can use procedural moves to block the troop withdrawal language and the White House has threatened to veto the bill if it contains the language forcing the removal of troops.
I just hope and pray the Republican senators and Independent Sen. Lieberman stick together and stop the closure of the bill.

Mr. Big says it never left

Mr. Big
Mr. Big Rush said today the "Vast Right Wing" conspericy has never left, contrary to what Mrs. Bill Clinton said that it is back.
Clinton asserted on Tuesday that the conspiracy is alive and well, and cited as proof the Election Day 2002 case of phone jamming in New Hampshire, a case in which two Republican operatives pleaded guilty to criminal charges, and a third was convicted.

"To the New Hampshire Democratic Party's credit, they sued and the trail led all the way to the Republican National Committee," Clinton said.

(AP) Democratic Presidential hopeful Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., gesture during a speech before...

"So if anybody tells you there is no vast, right-wing conspiracy, tell them that New Hampshire has proven it in court," she said.

Hanoi Jane

From an E-mail going around:
She really was a traitor

A TRAITOR IS ABOUT TO BE HONORED
KEEP THIS MOVING ACROSS AMERICA

This is for all the kids born in the 70's who do
not remember, and didn't have to bear the
burden that our fathers, mothers and older
brothers and sisters had to bear.

Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the
"100 Women of the Century."

BY BARBRA WALTERS

Unfortunately, many have forgotten and still
countless others have never known how Ms.
Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country,
but specific men who served and sacrificed
during Vietnam .

The first part of this is from an F-4E pilot

The pilot's name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat.

In 1968, the former Commandant of the USAF
Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison
the "Hanoi Hilton."

Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell,
cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJ's, he was
ordered to describe for a visiting American
"Peace Activist" the "lenient and humane
treatment" he'd received.

He spat at Ms Fonda, was clubbed, and was
dragged away.
During the subsequent beating, he fell forward
on to the camp Commandant 's feet, which
sent that officer berserk.

In 1978, the Air Force Colonel still suffered from
double vision (which permanently ended his
flying career) from the Commandant's frenzied
application of a wooden baton.

From 1963-65, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the
47FW/DO (F-4E's). He spent 6 years in the
"Hanoi Hilton",,, the first three of which his
family only knew he was "missing in action".
His wife lived on faith that he was still alive.
His group, too, got the cleaned-up, fed and
clothed routine in preparation for a
"peace delegation" visit.
They, however, had time and devised a plan to
get word to the world that they were alive
and still survived. Each man secreted a tiny
piece of paper, with his Social Security Number
on it, in the palm of his hand.

When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a
cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each
man's hand and asking little encouraging
snippets like: "Aren't you sorry you bombed
babies?" and "Are you grateful for the humane
treatment from your benevolent captors?"
Believing this HAD to be an act, they each
palmed her their sliver of paper.
She took them all without missing a beat. At the
end of the line and once the camera stopped
rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs,
she turned to the officer in charge and handed
him all the little pieces of paper.

Three men died from the subsequent beatings.
Colonel Carrigan was almost number four
but he survived, which is the only reason we
know of her actions that day.

I was a civilian economic development advisor
in Vietnam , and was captured by the North
Vietnamese communists in South Vietnam in
1968, and held prisoner for over 5 years.

I spent 27 months in solitary confinement; one
year in a cage in Cambodia ; and one year
in a "black box" in Hanoi .
My North Vietnamese captors deliberately
poisoned and murdered a female missionary, a
nurse in a leprosarium in Ban me Thuot, South
Vietnam , whom I buried in the jungle near the
Cambodian border.
At one time, I weighed only about 90 lbs.
(My normal weight is 170 lbs.)

We were Jane Fonda's "war criminals."

When Jane Fonda was in Hanoi , I was asked by
the camp communist political officer if I would
be willing to meet with her.

I said yes, for I wanted to tell her about the real
treatment we POWs received... and how
d ifferent it was from the treatment purported by
the North Vietnamese, and parroted by her as
"humane and lenient."

Because of this, I spent three days on a rocky
floor on my knees, with my arms outstretched
with a large steel weights placed on my hands,
and beaten with a bamboo cane.

I had the opportunity to meet with Jane Fonda
soon after I was released. I asked her
if she would be willing to debate me on TV.
She never did answer me.

These first-hand experiences do not exemplify
someone who should be honored as part
of "100 Years of Great Women."
Lest we forget..." 100 Years of Great Women"
should never include a traitor whose hands are
covered with the blood of so many patriots.

There are few things I have strong visceral
reactions to, but Hanoi Jane's participation in
blatant treason, is one of them.
Please take the time to forward to as many
people as you possibly can.
It will eventually end up on her computer and
she needs to know that we will never forget.

A-Q leader caught at Abu Ghraib

HT from LGF here:
The shadowy leader of the Islamic State of
Iraq, an al-Qaida-inspired group that challenged the authority of Iraq's government, was captured Friday in a raid on the western outskirts of Baghdad, an Iraqi military spokesman said.

Abu Omar al-Baghdadi was arrested along with several other insurgents in a raid in the town of
Abu Ghraib, said Brig. Gen. Qassim al-Moussawi, spokesman for the Baghdad security operation. U.S. officials had no confirmation of the capture and said they were looking into the report.

Al-Moussawi said al-Baghdadi admitted his identity, as did another "of the terrorists" who confirmed "that the one in our hands is al-Baghdadi."

The arrest of al-Baghdadi would be a major victory for U.S. and Iraqi forces in their fight against Sunni insurgents, especially the hardcore religious extremists who have shown no interest in negotiating an end to their struggle.

Time to do the Snoopy Dance again! The Surge is working. The cut and run Democrats are the losers! Victory is ours and we will win this war. God Bless our Troops!

UPDATE: False report. They caputured an A-Q operative, but not the head hancho in Iraq.

Psalm 31 Reading for the day

In you, LORD, I take refuge;
let me never be put to shame.
In your justice deliver me;

incline your ear to me;
make haste to rescue me!
Be my rock of refuge,
a stronghold to save me.
You are my rock and my fortress;
for your name's sake lead and guide me.
Free me from the net they have set for me,
for you are my refuge.
Into your hands I commend my spirit;
you will redeem me, LORD, faithful God.
You hate those who serve worthless idols,
but I trust in the LORD.
I will rejoice and be glad in your love,
once you have seen my misery,
observed my distress.
You will not abandon me into enemy hands,
but will set my feet in a free and open space.

Former US Sailor AQ spy

HT from LGF....

A former Navy sailor was arrested Wednesday for allegedly releasing classified information that ended up in the hands of a suspected terrorism financier.

Hassan Abujihaad, 31, of Phoenix, is accused in a case that began in Connecticut and followed a suspected terrorist network across the country and into Europe and the Middle East.

He was arrested in Phoenix on charges of supporting terrorism with an intent to kill U.S. citizens and transmitting classified information to unauthorized people.

I hope they convict this guy for TREASON!

Bin Ladden hit?

Only my hopes and dreams come true.....
According to eyewitnesses and local reporters in Kunar province, Coalition forces launched a fierce attack on a small enclave in the village of Mandaghel, approximately 17 miles from the border with Pakistan, on Friday afternoon. Warplanes pounded the positions ; U.S. special forces and Afghan National Army soldiers moved in shortly afterwards.

The assault appeared to meet stiff resistance from militants at the compound. Heavy artillery and gunfire could be heard for hours, local witnesses said . A handful of civilians were reportedly wounded in the strike. Though sealed off from outside access, the area now appears to be under coalition control.

U.S. officials declined to identify who the operation was targeting, but indicated they were after a "High Value Target" (HVT) . Official sources would not rule out that al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden himself was the intended victim. Afghan officials said the target could be another senior ranking al Qaeda leader.
