Snow Report

Via Drudge: Snow Report: It's Hurricane Helen!
QUESTION: Why would he pick such a man to be a domestic adviser?

SNOW: You meant contemptuous as opposed to contemptible I think.

QUESTION: Pure contempt.

SNOW: I'm not sure it's pure contempt. I know Karl Zinsmeister pretty well and he is somebody who expresses himself with a certain amount of piquancy. You're perhaps familiar with that, aren't you, Helen?

(LAUGHTER)

And so, as a consequence from time to time, he's going to say -- he'll have some sharp elbows.

QUESTION: His attitude toward public servants...

SNOW: I don't think it is his attitude toward public servants. It may have been toward the press. Just kidding.

(LAUGHTER)

No, look if, you look at the bulk of what Karl Zinsmeister has done at the American Enterprise and elsewhere, I think you're going to find somebody who's done some pretty meaty and interesting research on a variety of topics.

The reason he's being brought in is that he's...

QUESTION: Do you agree with his assessment?

SNOW: I'm not going to -- it is one sentence the guy wrote. And perhaps you may recall -- yes?

QUESTION: Arrogant, morally repugnant, cheating, shifty.

SNOW: That's a lot in one sentence, isn't it? He just packed it right in.

LOL! Tony is such a hollwer when he deals with Helen Thomas!

Keep the pressure on IRAN

From Hugh Hewitt's via Real Clear Politics Michael Barone's article:
First, assume that Iran is bent on getting nuclear weapons -- and don't rely totally on estimates that it won't get them for 10 years. Second, understand that the case for military action is not as strong as it was in Iraq. Iran is a much larger country, and the nuclear program sites are widely dispersed and probably strongly fortified. Third, -- and most importantly -- there is every indication that the Iranian people hate the mullahs' regime and like the United States.

It means keep the military strike option open and talk to the Iranian people. Most Iranian's I've spoken here in America love our country, hate the Mullahs in Iran and want the current Iranian government to be toppled. Keep vigilant and Keep fighting the GWOT!

Memorial Day remembered

The Navy Family went to the Memorial Day remembrance at Loma Vista Cemetery in Fullerton yesterday. The keynote speaker was REAR Admiral James A. Symonds,USN. He was the former commander of the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76). His son and daughter-in-law live in Fullerton. It was a beautiful day bright and sunny. A wonderful service to commemorate our warriors who died in service. We joined the Association of Loma Vista Memorial Park to volunteer at next Memorial Day service. It's something to get the Kids involved and to impart the heritage of our country and why those sacrifice to preserve our freedom.

Mr Murtha, listen to this

I'll repost the whole WaPo letter to editor. Mr. Murtha is rushing to judgement. He is playing to the hands of the enemy and endangering the troops.
Mr. Murtha's Rush to Judgment

Sunday, May 28, 2006; B06

A year ago I was charged with two counts of premeditated murder and with other war crimes related to my service in Iraq. My wife and mother sat in a Camp Lejeune courtroom for five days while prosecutors painted me as a monster; then autopsy evidence blew their case out of the water, and the Marine Corps dropped all charges against me ["Marine Officer Cleared in Killing of Two Iraqis," news story, May 27, 2005].

So I know something about rushing to judgment, which is why I am so disturbed by the remarks of Rep. John P. Murtha (D-Pa.) regarding the Haditha incident ["Death Toll Rises in Haditha Attack, GOP Leader Says," news story, May 20]. Mr. Murtha said, "Our troops overreacted because of the pressure on them, and they killed innocent civilians in cold blood."

In the United States, we have a civil and military court system that relies on an investigatory and judicial process to make determinations based on evidence. The system is not served by such grand pronouncements of horror and guilt without the accuser even having read the investigative report.

Mr. Murtha's position is particularly suspect when he is quoted by news services as saying that the strain of deployment "has caused them [the Marines] to crack in situations like this." Not only is he certain of the Marines' guilt but he claims to know the cause, which he conveniently attributes to a policy he opposes.

Members of the U.S. military serving in Iraq need more than Mr. Murtha's pseudo-sympathy. They need leaders to stand with them even in the hardest of times. Let the courts decide if these Marines are guilty. They haven't even been charged with a crime yet, so it is premature to presume their guilt -- unless that presumption is tied to a political motive.

Kerry is pressuring the Swifties

"They lied and lied and lied about everything," Mr. Kerry says in an interview in his Senate office. "How many lies do you get to tell before someone calls you a liar? How many times can you be exposed in America today?"

Sen. Kerry in yesterday's NYT claims he was in Cambodia for Christmashere:
So they have returned, for instance, to the question of Cambodia and whether Mr. Kerry was ever ordered to transport Navy Seals across the border, an experience that he said made him view government officials, who had declared that the country was not part of the war, as deceptive.

The Swift boat group insisted that no boats had gone to Cambodia. But Mr. Kerry's researcher, using Vietnam-era military maps and spot reports from the naval archives showing coordinates for his boat, traced his path from Ha Tien toward Cambodia on a mission that records say was to insert Navy Seals.

Who is Mr. Kerry's researcher?

Of course, plenty of disappointed and angry Democrats would like to know why Mr. Kerry did not defend himself so strenuously before the election. He had posted some military documents on his campaign's Web site and had allowed reporters to view his medical records but resisted open access to them as unnecessarily intrusive.

Mr. Kerry and his defenders say that they did not have the extensive archival material, and that it was too complicated to gather in the rapid pace of a campaign. He was caught off guard, he says; he had been prepared to defend his antiwar activism, but he did not believe that anyone would challenge the facts behind his military awards. "We should have put more money behind it," Mr. Kerry says now. "I take responsibility for it; it was my mistake. They spent something like $30 million, and we didn't. That's just a terrible imbalance when somebody's lying about you."

I think if a Man is telling the truth he could go on the record and support his side of the story. Kerry and the Dems did not. They ignored the Switfies (and the Blogsphere). And when a Man is lying he tries to run from it. To clam the Swifties had $30 million to fight the campaign. Didn't Mr. Kerry have money left over from his campaign ($75 million?).
I hope JFK honors his Brother-In-Arms this weekend. I would like for The Senator and John O'Neil to set the record straight and answer the questions on Kerry's Swift boat service.

God Bless the Switfties. Thanks for their service. I'm glad they came out in May 2004 to raise the questions about Sen. Kerry's war record and his actives after. I still have chills down my spine when I hear his "Gengas Khan" remarks at the senate hearings. Our solders are not war criminals. I was a teen back then and I knew John Kerry was lying.

Froggy posts over at BlackFive now. But back in August 2004 in FroggyRuminations his posts on Vietnam, the Seals and Swiftboats were informative here.. The blogs like his saved the day and brought out the truth. The MSM (like CBS and the Memos)were asleep at the wheel. Check out Froggys Archive. Great read.

Talk about war crimes. The NYT (here) have another article on the Marines on the killing spree last November. I hate to see the MSM already claim the Marines guilty. Let the tribunal begin.

Speak the English please!

There's been a cat fight at the Nail saloon! (here) A Customer claimed to be tired of hearing Spanish,
“Ten years in this country, I never seen anything like this. The lady says ‘Speak English, I don’t want to hear Spanish!’ and big fight happens,” Win told the Herald last night. “There was blood in here and everything. There were a lot of customers in here. It (was) crazy.”

I feel the same way when I walk my kids to school, "Speak the English!" I wish to say. Instead I say as I walk by "Blah, Blah, Blah!" I wish the parents who walk their kids to school would speak in English to get the kids ready for the day of learning English. It would also let the parents learn to speak English too!

One day I was waiting for my daughter to get out of class. Another classroom was walking by. One girl turned to me and said "Hola!" I said to her in English, "Excuse me, but it is 'Hello.' I'm moving my kids to a school that has a higher percentage of English speakers.

I was in line at McDonalds a few months back and the crew behind the counter was talking in Spanish. An older man in front of me turned around and said, "They speak better English in Cancun then here!" I told him I agree! At least in Cancun they have tourists who have big American dollars. I told him money talks and the language it speaks will dominate. So here in America those who pander and encourage Spanish speaking will dominate. Down in Cancun the Tourists dominate the spending so English will be spoken most. Just a theory....

Remember our troops this Memorial Day

I just finished reading Victor Davis Hanson on NRO (HT Blogs for Bush) in his article, "Looking Back at Iraq."
Reading about Gettysburg, Okinawa, Choisun, Hue, and Mogadishu is often to wonder how such soldiers did what they did. Yet never has America asked its youth to fight under such a cultural, political, and tactical paradox as in Iraq, as bizarre a mission as it is lethal. And never has the American military—especially the U.S. Army and Marines—in this, the supposedly most cynical and affluent age of our nation, performed so well.

We should remember the achievement this Memorial Day of those in the field who alone crushed the Taliban and Saddam Hussein, stayed on to offer a new alternative other than autocracy and theocracy, and kept a targeted United States safe from attack for over four years.

I feel proud that our American soldiers are fighting to keep the world free of tyrants and terrorists. They are America's best men and women. To fight for freedom to keep the homeland safe, they are doing the ultimate thing a human being can do. Sacrificing their life and the families who are left behind. We are in debt to you, and above all, we support you. Show your support to those who have died paying the ultimate sacrifice by attending a Memorial Day service.

It's 1938 again

In May 5th WaPo article by Charles Kruthammer quotes Bernard Lewis (HT HH):

As it races to acquire nuclear weapons, Iran makes clear that if there is any trouble, the Jews will be the first to suffer. "We have announced that wherever [in Iran] America does make any mischief, the first place we target will be Israel," said Gen. Mohammad Ebrahim Dehghani, a top Revolutionary Guards commander. Hitler was only slightly more direct when he announced seven months before invading Poland that, if there was another war, "the result will be . . . the annihilation of the Jewish race in Europe."

Last week Bernard Lewis, America's dean of Islamic studies, who just turned 90 and remembers the 20th century well, confessed that for the first time he feels it is 1938 again. He did not need to add that in 1938, in the face of the gathering storm -- a fanatical, aggressive, openly declared enemy of the West, and most determinedly of the Jews -- the world did nothing.

When Iran's mullahs acquire their coveted nukes in the next few years, the number of Jews in Israel will just be reaching 6 million. Never again?

milblogs and the war

Saw this on Fox news here:
As the war in Iraq and the national debate over it continue, military-themed American bloggers have been voicing their support for U.S. troops and, in most cases, the war itself.

"We're not only fighting a physical war, we're fighting an information war as well," said "Andi C.," organizer of the first annual MilBlog Conference, which took place last month in Washington.

"The Bush administration and the DoD [Department of Defense] have not been very effective in the information war," explained Andi C., who, like many "milbloggers," prefers not to use her full name. "Milblogs have been doing the heavy lifting. Both entities could learn a thing or two from milbloggers."

My hats off to the Troops and following though on the Misson. The MilBlogs gets it Right. The MSM gets it Wrong. We got to keep the fight up on the information war.
"Milblogs tell the good news, the progress on the ground," she said. "They also do a good job of introducing readers to heroic people that you might not get the chance to meet otherwise. Blackfive does an excellent job of this with his 'Someone you should know' series. Milblogs also keep the mainstream media in check, something badly needed."

Another great source is Capt. Dale Dye on Sundays from 1700 to 1900 (5 to 7 PM) at KFI 640 AM. He's got it right all the time! Here's his info on KFI site.

HT to BlackFive on the Valuor-IT laptop program here.

Debunk Dem talking points

Heard about this on Hugh's show yesterday. In an article by Peter Wehner in WS Opinion Journal (HT Blogs for Bush) here are the four myths debunked:
1. The president misled Americans to convince them to go to war.
2. The Bush administration pressured intelligence agencies to bias their judgments.
3. Because weapons of mass destruction stockpiles weren't found, Saddam posed no threat.
4. Promoting democracy in the Middle East is a postwar rationalization

Bin-Ladden on the move and asserts more power

I fear the Liberal MSM is winning the terror war. Bin-Ladden is more vocal and on the move now. From the Blotter on ABC here:

Pakistani government sources tell ABC News they have "credible reports" that Osama bin Laden and his entourage have moved down from high mountainous peaks along the Afghan border to a valley area 40 miles inside the Pakistan border.

The officials say the reports put bin Laden around Kohistan's Kumrat Valley.

Officials said the reports were validated by the release of bin Laden's audio tape yesterday, which appears to have been recorded only two weeks earlier.

Such a quick turn-around suggests, say the officials, that bin Laden is much closer to civilization than he had been previously.

Previous audio and video tapes have taken four to six weeks to become public.

From Yahoo news here:
Two counterterrorism officials in Washington, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said U.S. intelligence is aware of the bin Laden message. One of the officials said there is no reason to doubt its authenticity.

If authentic, it would be the third tape that bin Laden has issued this year — a sharp increase in the volume of propaganda issued by al-Qaida since August, according to terror experts such as Ben Venzke, head of IntelCenter, a private U.S. company that monitors militant message traffic and provides counterterrorism intelligence services to the U.S. government.

"Al-Qaida messaging volume levels are at the highest now than at any point since the group's inception," Venzke said.

Even more than ever we must:
Secure our borders
Support the Troops and the MISSION
Stay the Course (And Pray the Republican's stay in power!)
Please If you don't want the terrorists to win, Please vote in 2006 and 2008 elections. Our country and troops depend on you!

McCain on the Right wingers and Immigration

The majority of LEAGAL citizens are tired of paying the bills for ILLEGALs. I said ILLEGALS. (I hate PC. Those who are PC are the Racists. If you disagree, Bring it on! I'm in a fighting mood today.) They are breaking the law. We have such a double standard that children are really confused. I am concerned about the crowding of the public schools of Non-English speakers. They bog down the learning of ENGLISH speakers. They clog up the emergency hospitals and many have closed down. Our roads and freeways are clogged with drivers with No Car Insurance and NO Driver Licenses
Now on Drudge is his commencement speech. Here they are:
“What kind of a country do we want to be?” Mr. McCain asked his audience, walking around in the middle of a horseshoe-shaped table as he proceeded to answer his own question.

He cautioned against ghettoizing immigrants, which he noted has brought about disastrous results in France, and criticized elements in his own party as “nativist” before lambasting the punditry of Rush Limbaugh, Lou Dobbs and Michael Savage for helping to “fuel the problem,” according to two of the sources.

How do I want my country to be? I want my country to be full of Assimilated Legal Citizens who contribute to the Tax system. Who are working Legally, entering our county Legally, speaking ENGLISH and learning at our schools in ENGLISH.

I'm not some KOOL-Aide Drinker Senator McCain. I'm a really pissed off AMERICAN BORN CITZEN who really hates to have PC rubbed into my face everyday. Secure the borders, deport the Illegals who are coming here and punish the employers who hire ILLEGALS! Just enforce the LAWS of the Land. That’s all I want.

Marriage Amendment

It’s out of committee now. I hope it will be passed. Here's part of the text:
"Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman," reads the measure, which would require approval by two-thirds of Congress and three-fourths of the states.

"Neither this Constitution, nor the constitution of any State, shall be construed to require that marriage or the legal incidents thereof be conferred upon any union other than the union of a man and a woman,"

Mark Noonan on GOP Bloggers says this (And I agree!):
The family is the primary unit of civilization - it is not, by any stretch of the imagination, the individual. This is because human beings overwhelmingly cannot live on their own, and cannot have civilization without there being more than one human. Individuals are important, but what is more important is what Burke called our "little platoons" - those smaller groupings around which we conduct our daily lives and which provide us our real protection from the tyranny of the majority. These "little platoons" are our churches, social clubs, business associations and, most importantly, our families.

What gay marriage is designed to do is not so much lift up homosexual unions (only a very small percentage of homosexuals wish to get married) but to cast down heterosexual unions. The underlying concept is that the traditional family is an obstacle to the forward profess of society, so do whatever you can to make the family disintegrate - For me, this a line in the sand issue: thus far, and no further. Marriage and family have been buffeted by liberal/left attacks for half a century now, and it is time to call a halt.

Excuse me, but Western Civilization has been successful so far with Traditional Marriage. Why change it? I've studied cultural anthropology and there's no gay marriages. There are unions of multiple wives’s and one husband, or multiple husbands and one wife. But no unions of same sex. Anyway, in gay unions who’s the husband and who’s the wife? I don't want to confuse my kids. Let’s just keep it the way it has been for ages. The traditional family is perfect for me. I like the way the Catholic Church treats marriage as a vocation. It takes a Man and a Woman union to produce offspring. It works for me!

Don't Tread on Me!

You can buy this flag from here.
The U.S. Navy is relying on a historic icon to remind the world of America's strength and courage. The rattlesnake has been a favorite symbol of independence throughout America's history. Adopted as a uniquely American icon by early patriots, such as Benjamin Franklin, the rattlesnake represents American unity. Individually, its rattles have no sound, but united they can be heard by all. And while it does not strike unless threatened, once provoked, the deadly rattlesnake never surrenders.

Armed Forces Day is this weekend. Please support the troops and remember why we love them so much!

The People's Cube has a great one here.

English as the "Official" language

Here we go again with the "Racist" comments from Sen. MINORITY leader Harry Reid on the English as our official Language here:
"This amendment is racist. I think it's directed basically to people who speak Spanish," the Democrat said during the already tense debate over immigration reform.
Moments later, the Senate approved the measure on a 63-34 vote. Virtually all Republicans were joined by 11 Democrats to approve the largely symbolic amendment. Immediately following that vote, the Senate approved a second amendment, declaring on a 58-39 vote that English is the "common and unifying language."
Such proposals enjoy overwhelming support among American voters.
A poll by Zogby International earlier this year found that 84 percent of Americans say English should be the official language of government operations. The same poll found that 77 percent of Hispanics agree.

I'm sorry. Our schools are suffering because we have to take on these Illegal Immigrants (another racist term!) who don't learn the language. English as an official language legitimizes it and lets those know who are coming to our country you NEED to learn it! Some of the Fullerton Public schools are spending 30 minutes a day with NON English speakers teaching them ENGLISH. My poor ENGLISH speaking children have to keep themselves Busy while the Teachers spend time with the NON-English speakers. Pathetic.

Crystal Night all over

Just saw this on DrudgeReport here:
Iran's roughly 25,000 Jews would have to sew a yellow strip of cloth on the front of their clothes, while Christians would wear red badges and Zoroastrians would be forced to wear blue cloth.

What whould Islamics wear? Bombs in thier turbins?

Update: More about "Kristallnacht" here.

Murtha the Trator

I was away from the Blogs and talk radio yesterday. I was on a field trip with my daughter's class to the LA Zoo. Nice quality time with my KK. I'll have to post some pictures. It was nice to spend some time away from the trenches.

Now I'm back to the fire. I'm sooooo broiled up on Murtha again. Some are comparing him to Kerry here and his bash the troops meme. Here's a quote by James Tananto:
Murtha is what Kerry once was -- a darling of the Democrats by virtue of his ability to attack our military efforts under cover of his credentials. But all of the credentials in the world don't help when you contradict yourself in a single sentence.

Talk about darling! Why on God's green earth is the MSM giving this man any coverage at all? He's a TRATOR! Our troops are in harm's way. They are defending this country. It angers me when former Military bash the troops and the mission. Murtha should keep his comments to himself until the Marines fully investigate it.

From Army Times here::
The incident is still under investigation by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and Multi-National Forces Iraq.

The Marine Corps originally claimed that a convoy from the Camp Pendleton, Calif.-based Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, hit a roadside bomb that killed Lance Cpl. Miguel Terrazas, 20, of El Paso, Texas, and the ensuing firefight killed 15 Iraqi civilians — casualties the Corps at first claimed were killed in the bomb blast — including seven women and three children.

A March 27 Time magazine report published claims by an Iraqi civil rights group that the Marines barged into houses near the bomb strike, throwing grenades and shooting civilians as they cowered in fear. The report prompted calls for a Pentagon probe.

“It’s much worse than was reported in Time magazine,” Murtha, a Democrat, former Marine colonel and Vietnam war veteran, told reporters on Capitol Hill.

“There was no firefight. There was no [bomb] that killed those innocent people,” Murtha explained, adding there were “about twice as many” Iraqis killed than Time had reported.

No official investigation report has been released by the Pentagon and a spokesman for Murtha was unable to add to the congressman’s remarks.

“I do not know where Rep. Murtha is obtaining is information,” said Lt. Col. Sean Gibson, a spokesman for Marine Corps Forces Central Command in Tampa, Fla. “Thoroughness will drive the investigation.”

Da Speech

I listened while cooking dinner for the NavyFamily. I felt the President went to the middle. I knew the Pres. would not give up on Guest workers. I did like the Guard patrolling the Boarders and building the fence. I was listening to Hugh Hewitt’s show with Homeland Dept. Julie Myers and it just turned my stomach! Poor Hugh was upset! They are Backpedaling. The President said FENCE but really it will be a comprehensive. Ms. Myers said, "Well a fence can be dug under." I saw visions of the Clinton years with the "DEE DEE ZONE......" (Back ground sound of "Twilight Zone" theme) and included Speaker of the House Pelosi, Madame President and First Bubba in the White House.

Seriously, I read Anchoress and I do agree with her here.
I think the President struck the right tone and found middle ground, talking fence, but also talking sensibly about the people who are already here. He did not slavishly bow to the base but approached the problem as the president of the whole nation, and as a man who is interested in how human beings treat other human beings.

We need to sit back and debate the issue more on immigration. The Senate will battle it out. I have faith like you oh Holy one.
I have absolutely no doubt that the hard-liners, the “do it our way or your suck” extremists will not be shaken from their rage, but I am becoming convinced that they don’t want to be shaken from it, for a variety of reasons that I may (or may not) get into tomorrow.

For people who are willing to understand that perfect “solutions” will never be enacted in a nation where politicians freeze in the face of the tiniest outcry and presspeople willfully distort, I think the speech represents a good start. The president has told congress the ball is now in their court. We’ll see what our spineless and opportunistic “leaders” can come up with.

Well said. I'll see what Senator Frist does. He seemed motivated last night when talking to Hugh. The Senator was committed to getting Confirming Kavanaugh by Memorial day. Let's get the Judges confirmed. The Republican Base must 'Lax like Anchoress said

NSA phone list

I like Michelle's artcile here in the NYPost today about the NSA program on phone lists.

Like me and most American's feel much safer with the program intact than our privacy intruded on. I don't care if they have a list of my phone numbers. They aren't listening in on them. "Phone Tapping" is regulated by the US courts as criminal activity and warrants are issued. Here, we don't have the time to issue warrants for Terrorists. If it is suspected A-Q activity, then they will go and get the info they need to capture them. Like I have said in the past, an American would never ever call or speak to an A-Q terrorist. Domestic spying is not the issue. It is the foreign calls coming in from Known A-Qs.

President Bush made clear yesterday: "We're not mining or trolling through the personal lives of millions of innocent Americans. Our efforts are focused on links to al Qaeda and their known affiliates. So far we've been very successful in preventing another attack on our soil."

Nevertheless, the civil liberties Chicken Little are screaming "Bushitler!" on cue. What they should be screaming for are the heads of the blabbermouths endangering all of us by running to the fifth-column press when they don't get their way in Washington. But you can never find the leak-decriers when you need them, can you?

Way to go, Tony Snow!

I'm glad the WH went with Tony Snow as Pres. Sec. Instead of going on defence all the time, the WH is on the offense supporting its plans. The drug plan and the great economy are being talked about and Tony is going right at the attackers to set the story right! About time WH. We need to win the mid-term elections and keep both houses. From Bill Sammon here and HT to Powerline from Newsbusters here.
Frist at the NYT.....
New White House Press Secretary Tony Snow is starting off in a combative mode against the press by issuing detailed rebuttals to what he considers unfair coverage of Bush.

“The New York Times continues to ignore America’s economic progress,” blared the headline of an e-mail sent to reporters Wednesday by the White House press office.

Then CBS.....
“CBS News misleadingly reports that only 8 million seniors have signed up for Medicare prescription drug coverage,” Wednesday’s missive said. “But 37 million seniors have coverage.” On Tuesday, the White House railed against “USA Today’s misleading Medicare story.”

“USA Today claims ‘poor, often minority’ Medicare beneficiaries are not enrolling in Medicare drug coverage,” the press office complained. “But by April, more than 70 percent of eligible African Americans, more than 70 percent of eligible Hispanics, and more than 75 percent of eligible Asian Americans are enrolled or have retiree drug coverage.”

***Update, Today Bill Sammon from theExaminer on Tony Snow:
Until this week, Bush administration officials rarely issued detailed rebuttals of articles they considered unfair. But Snow, who is expected to give his first public briefing Monday, has taken a more combative stance.

This week he has hit back at The New York Times and USA Today. On Thursday, he criticized the AP for a story headlined: “Army Guard, Reserve fall short of April recruiting goals.”

The White House countered: “The Army National Guard, Air Force Reserve, and Marine Corps Reserve all have exceeded or achieved their year-to-date recruitment goals.”

The troops are not fractured like the MSM wants to portray as. They are more strong, more determined, and more then ever to support the Mission. And likewise, the loved ones who are at home support the mission also.

Hey OC Republicans, Dean and the Dem's got plans for OC here.

The Democratic National Committee chairman, in Santa Ana for a reception Tuesday evening, is trying to remake the party into a grass-roots organization to better reach voters - including those in Republican strongholds such as Orange County.

"I can't think of a better place" to build the party than Orange County, Dean said in a phone interview shortly before the Democratic Foundation of Orange County event, which was closed to the press.

The county "has a reputation of being conservative, but even conservatives don't like corruption. So some people might consider us. ... We have a chance if we stand up and say what we believe."

He's Crazy that Ahmadinejad!

"Can one be a follower of Jesus Christ, the great Messenger of God, feel obliged to respect human rights, present liberalism as a civilization model, announce one's opposition to the proliferation of nuclear weapons and WMDs, make "War on Terror" his slogan, and finally, work towards the establishment of a unified international community – a community which Christ and the virtuous of the Earth will one day govern – but at the same time have countries attacked, the lives, reputations and possessions of people destroyed and on the slight chance of the presence of a few criminals in a village, city or convoy, for example, the entire village, city or convoy set ablaze."

Well, we were attacked first and lost 3,000 lives. The WTC was set ablaze and then toppled down. We captured many and placed them at G'tmo. They caputre us and they cut off our heads. Go Figure.

A-Q's having recruiting problems

According to Cent COM, the latest AQ memo of April 16 shows them at dire straights. They are having difficulties obtaining recruits. It seems that those who oppose AQ do so because they hate having their people killed and blown up. The coalition forces are having no problem recruiting at all. Moral is up and re-enlistments are at an all time high. Those who understand it and get it support the mission. We are winning. They are desperate. Hey NYT, WaPo, LAT, CBS, and CNN. Get this message from CentCom
“The discovery of theses documents is extremely relevant. This information confirms what the Government of Iraq, Coalition Forces and ultimately the people of Iraq already know - that AQIZ’s role only attempts to impede Iraqis in following the road to prosperity, security and national unity,” said MNF-I spokesman, Brig. Gen. Rudy Wright.

According to the translated al-Qaida in Iraq’s documents, the Mujahideen’s only power lies in surprise ‘hit and run’ attacks, or setting up explosive charges and booby traps that predominantly target civilian men, women and children.

According to the author of the Baghdad State of Affairs document (translated), “The actions of the Iraqi Security Forces are having a significant negative impact on the Mujahideen’s ability to operate in Baghdad. Al Qaida in Iraq attacks Mosques and other public places to draw media attention and is having difficulty recruiting members because the people of Iraq do not support its cause.”
